In addition to employees, the guests included members of the Supervisory Board and the Group Works Council, as well as customers and partners from the fields of business, science and culture. The new Prime Minister of Thuringia, Mario Voigt, represented the State of Thuringia as the main shareholder.

Dr. Stefan Traeger, President & CEO of Jenoptik, began with a brief summary of the company’s successful transformation and financial performance in recent years. In the coming years, Jenoptik’s focus shall be further sharpened, especially with regard to target markets, technologies and innovations. According to Dr. Stefan Traeger, Jenoptik will contribute to the creation of an appropriate political framework with openness, drive, and dedication to the Jena location.

In his welcoming address, Prime Minister Mario Voigt praised Jenoptik as a model company in and for Thuringia. The company is deeply rooted in Thuringia, is economically successful and takes its social responsibility seriously.

The Lord Mayor of Jena, Dr. Thomas Nitzsche, pointed out the successful transformation and stable investments in Jena. To face the current global uncertainties, he said, we need confidence and the will to shape the future.

Finally, Dr. Stefan Traeger, Jenoptik CFO Dr. Prisca Havranek-Kosicek and Executive Board member Dr. Ralf Kuschnereit addressed the guests with their personal and business wishes for 2025.

Franziska Schenk, moderator and former speed skater from Thuringia, led through the program. BMX and street dance shows by sports artists provided dynamic entertainment.

Fundraising for Jena sports clubs

“Keep on moving” was not only the motto of the evening, but also the link to this year's fundraising campaign. As in previous years, Jenoptik used the New Year’s reception to ask its guests for a donation for a good cause. This year, the donations will benefit two sports clubs in Jena that are strongly committed to youth and amateur sports: SV Jena Zwätzen e.V. and USV Jena e.V. By the evening of the New Year’s reception, around 2,300 euros had been collected, for which not only Jenoptik but also Helmut Stadeler and Thomas Fritsche, as representatives of the two clubs, expressed their thanks.

In addition to discussions and networking, the guests had many opportunities after the official program to explore experiments and optical phenomena themselves or under the guidance of the Imaginata guides in the park of the “Experimentarium” Imaginata, which is dedicated to the natural sciences. The Jenoptik New Year’s reception took place at the Imaginata for the third time. Jenoptik is the main sponsor of the "Experimentarium".
