“Optics is our passion and we are passing it on to the next generation,” says Olaf Drillisch-Saathoff in a short interview for the Thuringian campaign. “Our training in the fields of precision optics, mechatronics and microtechnology is one of the most sought-after in Thuringia.” The 2025 training year is already an important topic for him, he reports in the interview, which is “on air this week” for the campaign.

The “Thuringia? That’s us!” campaign aims to emphasize the advantages of Thuringia from its history and current progress and wants to promote democratic society. Jenoptik is pursuing similar aspects with the company’s own #BleibOffen (staying open) campaign. “With openness and innovative strength, we are shaping the future of photonics in the heart of Germany,” is Olaf Drillisch-Saathoff’s personal statement for Thuringia.

Olaf Drillisch-Saathoff has started as Head of Global HR at JENOPTIK AG as of May 1, 2024, assuming responsibility for the global HR activities of the Jenoptik Group. He succeeds Maria Koller, who moved to mechanical engineering company Palfinger, and reports to President & CEO Dr. Stefan Traeger.

The 52-year-old HR manager Olaf Drillisch-Saathoff has many years of HR experience in international technology companies. Most recently, he was Head of Human Resources EMEA at the Japanese industrial machinery manufacturer EBARA Corporation. His professional experience includes HR management positions at semiconductor specialists such as Globalfoundries and KLA-Tencor.
