Jenoptik’s skilled workers’ inauguration and apprentices’ day at Imaginata Jena
Nearly 50 current and future apprentices from Jenoptik’s Thuringian sites came together with their trainers at Imaginata Jena for the Jenoptik Apprentices’ Day.
On one day in July each year, the focus is on Jenoptik’s young talent. All those who have finished their apprenticeship received their graduate certificates, and the new apprentices from August also come together with their parents to get to know each other.
“The Apprentices’ Day was established because it is simply better to learn when you know your colleagues and meet and get together for once outside of school and the daily training routine,” says Sarah Volger, who supervises the apprentices at Jenoptik and initiated and organizes the Apprentices’ Day.
Jenoptik President & CEO Stefan Traeger presented the 18 new skilled workers from the Jena, Dresden and Triptis sites with their graduate certificates in the afternoon. “I would like to encourage you to never stop learning. Use your training as a foundation to develop yourself and acquire new skills. Be curious, be open to change and be willing to adapt. Success does not only depend on our knowledge and skills, but also on our passion and commitment,” he advised the young professionals.
At Jenoptik, a total of 28 trainees are completing their skilled worker training at all locations in Germany 2023 these days. Jenoptik’s apprenticeships primarily include mechatronics technician, industrial clerk, precision optician, industrial mechanic, electronics technician, microtechnologist, process mechanic, and warehouse logistics technician. In August, a total of 48 new trainees will start their training at Jenoptik in the various occupations. “We were able to fill all the apprenticeship positions in Jena at the start and are pleased that Jenoptik has a good reputation as an attractive employer,” said Sarah Volger.
The Apprentices’ Day was held for the first time at Jena’s Imaginata science center. Jenoptik took advantage of the setting that day and extended its sponsorship agreement with Imaginata for another three years.
