Season's greetings from Jenoptik
On behalf of all employees, the Jenoptik Executive Board would like to thank you for your trust and cooperation this year.
We wish you and your loved ones a wonderful Advent season, a peaceful Christmas, happy holidays and a good start to the new year!
We hope you can, as we do, already look forward to exciting projects that the coming year will hold!
One important topic will continue to accompany us in 2025: We are convinced that our business success does not only depend on photonic technologies and innovations, but also on a positive social environment. That is why we are committed to values such as openness, tolerance and diversity and appeal to everyone: stay open and open-minded!

Investment and construction progress
Two years after the ground-breaking ceremony, we are on the home straight with the construction of our new high-tech fab in Dresden, Germany. In the first half of the year, the focus was on the interior fit-out, the technical equipment and the design of the exterior façade.
The installation of the production facilities began in the fall – all on schedule to manufacture micro-optics and sensors for the semiconductor industry in the fab from 2025.
Management and strategy
In the fall, the Supervisory Board of JENOPTIK AG extended the contract with President & CEO Dr. Stefan Traeger by a further three years until June 2028, thus ensuring continuity in the management of our photonics group.
In November, the Executive Board informed the capital market and the public about Jenoptik's forecast for the next year. You can find out more about our growth opportunities and forecast here on our Jenoptik at a glance page.
Promoting framework conditions
As a global technology group, Jenoptik is committed to openness, diversity and tolerance at all its locations.
In this context, we welcomed political representatives at our headquarters in Jena in particular, including Minister of Economic Affairs Robert Habeck, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and SPD party chairwoman Saskia Esken.
At our site in Dresden, we were able to give Saxony's Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Dulig, an insight into our plant and the fab development on site.
Awards and honors
In September, we received the “Pioneer Award” for our business success, technological expertise and social commitment.
We also received another “Supplier Award” from semiconductor equipment maker ASML again this year, this time in the quality category.
Innovations for our markets
Jenoptik offers innovations for the automotive production of tomorrow, including laser technology for sophisticated interior design and solutions for exterior lighting concepts.
At the end of July, the 400th JENOPTIK-VOTAN® A was sold and ceremoniously handed over to an automotive supplier, followed by the delivery of the first system of the new translucent technology JENscan® Style in August.
Increasing traffic safety
Jenoptik develops complete solutions in the field of traffic monitoring worldwide.
This year we have strengthened our presence in North America with projects in the US states of Arkansas and Maryland as well as with a large speed camera program in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. We are also increasingly tapping into the South American market, for example in Ecuador.
We were also successful with projects to improve road safety in Kuwait and in the Greater Manchester area, England.
Commitment to science and culture
In October, we presented the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences in Jena with a set of high-performance optical components for laser beam guidance. The sample case will be used as exhibition and teaching material in future.
At our site in Triptis, we opened a youth business workshop for children and young people with an interest in STEM topics together with the Thuringia Foundation for Technology, Innovation and Research (STIFT).
And for those interested in culture, we offered various art projections at the Ernst Abbe high-rise in Jena, including digital artworks by Lorna Mills, Kurt Komell and Peter Burr.
